Punching Shear Capacity of Recycled Aggregate Concrete Slabs

This article investigates the punching shear behavior of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) two-way slabs. Ten 1500 mm × 100 slabs were tested monotonically. Eight cast with RAC, whereas two control natural (NAC). The RAC incorporated coarse (RCA) at replacement levels 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Two flexural reinforcement ratios (0.8% 1.5%) examined. results show that normalized strength 100% decreased by 6.5% 9% compared to NAC for ? = 1.5% 0.8%, respectively. Doubling amount can increase capacity up 45%. A database 44 from literature 8 presented in this study revealed predicted ACI 318 was conservative, except low (<0.6%). Eurocode 2 gave more conservative all RCA ratios. yield-line analysis also showed failure mode controlled shear.
